Peerani Dadi Sakinah (R.A) also known as Peerani Dadi Ma (R.A) stayed at Pointe aux Piments. She veiled herself from the world around the year 1850.
She rests at Arsenal Cemetery which formed part of Bois Marchand Cemetery which is now separated by the new road leading to Pamplemousses.
Description
Peerani Dadi Sakinah (R.A) also known as Peerani Dadi Ma (R.A) stayed at Pointe aux Piments. She veiled herself from the world around the year 1850. She rests at Arsenal Cemetery which formed part of Bois Marchand Cemetery which is now separated by the new road leading to Pamplemousses.
Her tomb was opened for another person to be buried. Not only her body but her clothes, kafan, and pagri (pieces of wood placed in the tomb) were intact, fresh, and clean.
Many people have seen the light emerging from her tomb while paying homage to her. In the year 1970, the late Haji Aniff Dauhoo built a fence around her tomb. In 1993, the dargah was constructed by Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Dauhoo & family. Many devotees have witnessed miracles. No donation in terms of money is accepted, but the devotees may bring flowers, agarbatti, sweets, and chaddars if they want.
Giyarween Shareef is organized after Esha prayers on the 11th of the Islamic Calendar each month, except during the month of Ramadan. Also, during the month of Muharram and Zil Hajj, the function is organized on the 12th of the Islamic Calendar after the Esha prayer. The Urs Shareef of other Auliya Allah is also organized in the relevant months.
Each year the Urus of Peerani Dadi Sakinah (R.A) is organized in the month of Rabi Al Awwal at the dargah.
The dargah is open on Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
