Hazrat Bishr ibn Hasan ibn Ali (R.A)

Hazrat Bishr (R.A) was born to Imam Hasan (R.A) who was the son of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (R.A). His father, Imam Hasan (R.A), was the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

LINEAGE

Hazrat Bishr (R.A) was born to Imam Hasan (R.A) who was the son of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (R.A). His father, Imam Hasan (R.A), was the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

 

LIFE

He is one of the martyrs of the Battle of Karbala, although no record describes the circumstances surrounding his death by enemy forces. Of Imam Hasan ibn Ali’s (R.A) twenty sons, seven participated in the battle, among them Bishr ibn al-Hasan (R.A). All but one brother was killed during the battle. It has also been said that Bishr (R.A) had been martyred, too.

Among Bishr ibn al-Hasan’s (R.A) brothers who were present at the event of Ashura were Amr (who was killed in the event at Karbala when he was a child), Hasan (R.A) (better known as ‘Hasan al-Muthanna’), Qasim (R.A) (who was also considered to be killed at Karbala), and Abd Allah (R.A) (Abd Allah al-Asghar).

 

LEGACY

Hazrat Bishr ibn Hasan (R.A) inherited the legacy of bravery that characterized his family. He was raised in an environment deeply rooted in Islamic teachings and principles, under the guidance of his father, Imam Hasan (R.A).
