LEGACY
His spiritual lineage refers to him affectionately as Nana Murshad. His Mazar Shareef is located in the Surti Cemetery, Riche Terre. He left this earthly world on the 22nd of June 1914 (28th Rajab 1332).
The following saying is inscribed on a marble plaque to the left of the Mazar Shareef:
“Oh, my dear friends, forget this world and recognize your God (Allah). Don’t forget my words, see my grave, and don’t forget my words. You all must come here, like in the same grave with no ventilation. Don’t forget this, don’t come bare-handed, bring your good deeds by recognizing your relationship with God and his love, don’t forget this.”
His Urs Shareef is observed by the Sunni-Sufi community in Mauritius to celebrate his teachings, miracles, and continuous spiritual blessings.
